SCS Software has announced that Thermo King, a global leader in transport temperature control solutions, will be joining Euro Truck Simulator 2 as a free addition with the upcoming 1.59 update. The brand, which has been pioneering the field since 1938, produces refrigeration systems for trucks, trailers, railcars, and intermodal containers, protecting goods ranging from fresh food to pharmaceuticals.
In-game, the previously unbranded refrigeration units on reefer trailers will be replaced by real Thermo King models — the A-360, A-400, A-500, SLXi 300, and SLXi 400 for single trailers, and the UT-1400R unit mounted beneath double-trailer configurations.This change is aimed at adding a layer of authenticity when hauling temperature-sensitive cargo.
